Start Now! becoming a “Good Practice”

Start Now! becoming a “Good Practice”

The project „Start Now!: Strategic partnership for health promotion among youth”, officially has come to the end. We are very proud of the project’s results, especially the modules of non-formal health education. Polish National Agency evaluated the project as a very good and crowned it with the „Good Practice”.

The collaboration of our 3 partner’s countries has been very successful and inspiring. We have been still working together on other assignments with Social Policy and Action Organization. We conduct the project: „React-Act-Prevent Sexual Violence Through Youth Work”.

It is not the end of the modules and approaches that have been presented in the method. Our Organizations as a primary NECs are going to promote them and disseminate them all over the World. We include the method in our daily work, projects, and activities. We still can certify new organizations and our e-course still exist.

We are full of hope that we Inspire You to discover new methods and new ways of health education.

Project has got certificate “Project for a medal”

Project has got certificate “Project for a medal”

Project “Start Now” was positively evaluated by the experts’ board of Institute of the Third Sector and received the “Project for a medal” certificate.

The idea behind the “NGO Certificate” Program is to disseminate knowledge about Polish NGOs, to promote their best activities and projects, and, as in the case of the distinction entitled. “Project for a medal” – promotion of the best initiatives undertaken by non-governmental organizations.

The certificate honors the work of the authors of the Project, highlights the benefits that the Project brings to its recipients/beneficiaries and promotes the idea of acting for the benefit of others. It is also proof of social trust.

We are very grateful for rewarding and appreciating our work.

Portal with modules is working!

Portal with modules is working!

During the project, in total 20 educational modules have been developed, ready to be used by youth leaders. In total 4 categories of issues (different areas), were approached with each category composed of at least 5 educational modules. These are as following:

  1. Environmental Health
  2. Healthy Diet
  3. Health Promotion and Prevention Diseases
  4. Physical Activity

All modules are suitable for both youth and adults. Modules have been adapted to the specific age of beneficiaries (topics, methods, knowledge).

Each module holds a number of stars, dividing the level of difficulty: one-star module (*) is dedicated to the youngest, two-star modules (**) to teenagers and three-star modules (***) to students and even adults.

Training course just came to an end!

Training course just came to an end!

One of the most important project’s activity – training course just came to an end.

Training course took place between 9thand 16thof March 2018 in Głuchołazy (Poland). In this activity took part 21 youth leaders from different NGO’s and institutions from partner countries: Bulgaria, Cyprus and Poland.

The purpose of the training was to familiarize its participants with non-formal education methods about health. First days were dedicated to principles and features of non-formal education. After these days, it was time for training in health modules. Those lessons are the innovative method learning about health, developed on cooperation of 3 partner organizations at the international level.

Upon completion of the training, the organizations participating in the training have received the NEC (Non formal Education Center)certificate, which means that they have learnt about non-formal education methods and they know how to use modules. As they gained NEC status, participants are obligated to implement at least 1 module among the young people with whom it works and to complete the survey before and after the workshops.

The questionnaire will be used in the study of the knowledge of the concept of non-formal education and the validity and usability of modules.

Our third international meeting came to an end

Our third international meeting came to an end

Our third international meeting came to an end. We have spent 5 amazing days together in Larnaca on Cyprus. This time, the organizer of the meeting was Social Policy and Action Organization. Thanks to that we have moved on with modules in our project: “Start now!: Strategic partnership for health promotion among youth”.

The main meeting was held between 20.10 and 24.10 of 2017. During those days we have focused on improving our work on the innovative non formal education method in the frame of health education. Moreover we have finished introduction for publication and we have presented 2nd chapter – about non-formal education in general. We also talked about project promotion and preparing training course in Poland, which will be held in March 2018.

We have spent lovely informal time in Larnaca. We had a great possibility to feel and fall in love in Cypriot culture and cuisine. We have gathered together in Greek tavern, where we have tasted “meze”- a selection of many different regional dishes such as: greek salad, sheftalia, souvlaki, pita and many others. Everything with accompany of traditional live music. We also have a possibility to visit Nicosia – headquarter city of SPAO and little sightseeing this big city with cozy streets and lovely Greek homes.

This project is organized in the frame of Erasmus+ KA2, between 3 partner NGOs: Social Policy an Action Organization from Nicosia, Cyprus, Bulgarian Sports Development Association from Sofia, Bulgaria and Health related Organization for Promotion and Prevention from Opole, Poland as a project coordinator.
